You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Navigate to Settings → Subscription → Cancel. Your membership will remain active until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees apply.
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This action is permanent and will remove all your data, matches, conversations, and Date Diary entries within 30 days. If you have an active subscription, please cancel it first to avoid being charged after deletion.
Accounts are suspended when our moderation team identifies a violation of our Terms of Use. If you believe this was a mistake, please contact us and we will review your case.
Most profiles are reviewed and approved within a few hours. During high-volume periods, approval can take up to 24 hours. You'll receive a notification once your profile is live. If it's been more than 24 hours, please contact support.

Unlike volume-based apps, DatingAbove focuses on quality over quantity. Every member goes through a profile review process. Our AI matching engine analyzes 140+ compatibility factors so you spend less time searching and more time connecting. We also offer features like the Date Diary, curated weekly matches, and a concierge-style support experience.
The Date Diary is an optional feature where members can share photos and stories from their dating experiences on the platform. It gives other members a real feel for the DatingAbove experience. You control exactly what you post, and you can delete entries at any time.
Yes. DatingAbove is available as a mobile app on iOS and Android, and also as a full web app at datingabove.com. Your account syncs seamlessly across all devices.
Tap the Settings icon in your profile, then select Report a Problem. Include a description of the issue, what device and OS version you're using, and any screenshots if possible. You can also email support@datingabove.com directly.
Yes. All members start with a free Standard account which allows you to create a profile, browse matches, and receive your weekly curated matches. Premium membership unlocks unlimited messaging, advanced filters, read receipts, priority matching, and access to exclusive events.

Account & Profile
Tap your profile icon, then select Edit Profile. You can update your bio, photos, interests, preferences, and lifestyle details at any time. Changes are typically live within a few minutes after a brief moderation review.
For security reasons, date of birth cannot be changed directly in the app after account creation. Please contact us if you need to correct this information.
Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Pause Account. Your profile will be hidden from other members and matching will be paused. Your data, conversations, and matches are all preserved. You can reactivate at any time with one tap. Note: pausing does not pause an active subscription.
Go to Settings → Verification. You'll be asked to take a real-time selfie that matches your profile photos. Our system compares the two using facial-recognition technology. Verification gives your profile a blue verified badge, which significantly increases match rates.
We no longer support Facebook or Google sign-in verification due to ongoing changes in those platforms' API policies. We use our own selfie-based verification system, which is faster and more secure. If you originally signed up via Facebook, your account is still active — you just need to set a password in Settings.
Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Contact Information. You'll need to verify the new email or phone number before the change takes effect.
On the login screen, tap Forgot Password and enter the email associated with your account. You'll receive a reset link within minutes. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder. The link expires after 1 hour.
If you believe your suspension was a mistake, please contact us with the subject line "Suspension Appeal" and include your registered email address. Our team will investigate and respond.
No. Each person is limited to one account. Creating multiple accounts is a violation of our Terms of Use and will result in all associated accounts being permanently banned.
Photo Information
All photos must clearly show your face without heavy filters, masks, or sunglasses. We require at least 2 photos to activate your profile. Photos must not contain:
- Nudity or sexually explicit content
- Group photos where you can't be identified
- Photos of children without an accompanying adult
- Stock images, memes, or images that aren't of you
- Contact information, social media handles, or promotional material
You can upload up to 9 photos on your profile. We recommend using 5–7 for the best match rates. Include a clear headshot, a full-body photo, and photos that reflect your lifestyle and interests.
Photos are reviewed by our moderation team and may be rejected for various reasons including excessive filters, face not clearly visible, inappropriate content, or not meeting our community guidelines. You'll receive a notification explaining the reason, and you can upload a replacement immediately.
Yes. Premium members can designate up to 3 photos as "Private." These photos are hidden from your public profile but can be shared with individual matches at your discretion by tapping the lock icon in a conversation.
For the best quality, upload photos directly from your device's camera roll rather than screenshots or photos downloaded from social media. Images should be at least 800×800 pixels. Avoid uploading from low-resolution sources.
We use technical measures to discourage screenshotting and disable right-click saving on the web. However, no platform can fully prevent screenshots on all devices. If you discover your photos being used elsewhere without consent, please contact us and we will take swift action.
Matching & Messaging
Every Monday, you receive a set of hand-picked matches based on your profile, preferences, and activity. Standard members receive 5 matches per week; Premium members receive 12. These matches are our algorithm's top picks for you and typically have higher compatibility scores than general browsing results.
Premium members have access to advanced search with filters for age, location, education, lifestyle, height, and more. Standard members can browse their curated matches and the Discover feed, but cannot use advanced search filters.
When you like someone, they receive a notification (unless you're using Incognito mode). If they like you back, it's a mutual match and a conversation thread opens automatically. Premium members can see who has liked them before deciding whether to match.
Messaging requires a mutual match. If you've matched with someone and still can't message, make sure your app is updated to the latest version. If the issue persists, try logging out and back in, or contact support.
Yes. Video calling is available to Premium members after both parties have exchanged at least 5 messages. To start a video call, tap the camera icon in the top right of your conversation. Both members must have video calling enabled in their settings.
Video calls are real-time — if you missed it, the call has ended. You'll see a "Missed Video Call" note in your conversation. You can tap it to call them back or send a message. Make sure your notifications are enabled for the best experience.
Yes. Open the conversation, tap the three-dot menu, and select Unmatch. This permanently removes the match and deletes the conversation for both of you. The other person will not be notified.
Incognito mode (Premium only) lets you browse profiles without the other person knowing you viewed them. Your profile will also be hidden from Discover and search results — only people you actively like will see your profile. Toggle it on in Settings → Privacy → Incognito.
The Wishlist feature is available only to Premium members. If you recently upgraded and still can't see it, try force-closing and reopening the app. If the problem continues, make sure your app is on the latest version and contact support if needed.
Payment & Billing
We offer three Premium membership tiers:
- 1 Month — billed monthly, cancel anytime
- 3 Months — billed quarterly, save 20%
- 12 Months — billed annually, save 45%
All plans include unlimited messaging, advanced search, video calling, read receipts, Incognito mode, priority matching, and access to exclusive member events.

We accept most major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Prepaid and gift cards may work depending on the issuing bank, but we cannot guarantee processing. For the most reliable experience, use a standard credit or debit card.
This can occasionally happen due to a delay between the App Store or Google Play and our system. Try force-closing and reopening the app, then go to Settings and tap "Restore Purchases." If it still isn't working, please contact us for further assistance.
This usually happens when a payment fails to renew. Please check that your payment method is valid and contact us if the issue persists.
Memberships are tied to your billing date, not your sign-up date. Please check your original confirmation email for the exact renewal date. Contact us if you believe there's an error.
Currently, subscriptions cannot be paused — only cancelled. However, you can pause your account visibility (hiding your profile) while keeping your subscription active. If you cancel, your Premium features remain available until the end of your billing period, and you can re-subscribe at any time.

Charges from DatingAbove will appear on your statement as "DATINGABOVE" or "DA*PREMIUM." We do not include any dating-related language beyond the brand name. Please contact us if you need a more discreet billing descriptor.
Privacy & Safety
We use industry-standard AES-256 encryption for all data in transit and at rest. We never sell your personal information to third parties. Your profile is only visible to other verified members. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
You can report a member directly from their profile by tapping the report button (flag icon). Select the reason and provide details. You can also email safety@datingabove.com. We investigate all reports within 24 hours.
Yes. Open the person's profile, tap the three-dot menu, and select Block. Blocked members cannot see your profile, send you messages, or find you in search. Blocking is silent — the other person is not notified. You can manage your blocked list in Settings → Privacy → Blocked Members.
Email privacy@datingabove.com with the subject line "Data Request" or "GDPR Request." We process all requests within 30 days as required by applicable law.
We never sell your personal data. We share limited, anonymized data with service providers who help us operate the platform. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Yes. Use the Block feature to prevent specific people from seeing your profile. Premium members can also enable Incognito mode to browse completely anonymously. Additionally, you can hide your profile from members in your phone contacts via Settings → Privacy → Block Contacts.
Your report is reviewed by our Trust & Safety team within 24 hours. The reported member will not know who filed the report. Depending on severity, actions range from a warning to permanent removal from the platform.
We offer optional selfie-based verification that confirms a member's photos match their real appearance. Verified profiles receive a blue badge. While we encourage all members to verify, it is not required to use the platform.
Known Issues
Some iOS users on version 17.4+ have reported delayed or missing push notifications. We're working with Apple to resolve this. In the meantime, make sure notifications are enabled in your device's Settings → Notifications → DatingAbove and try toggling them off and on.
We've identified an issue with video call stability on certain Android devices running older versions of WebView. Update the "Android System WebView" component from the Google Play Store. If the problem persists, try using the web app for video calls instead.
Try these steps: (1) Force-close and reopen the app, (2) Clear the app cache in your device settings, (3) Make sure you're on the latest app version, (4) Restart your device. If the issue persists, contact support with your device model and OS version.
This can happen during server maintenance or high-traffic periods. Messages are queued and will be delivered once the issue resolves, typically within a few minutes. If a message has been "sent" for more than 1 hour, try resending it.
This is a known issue on app version 3.2.1 and has been fixed in 3.2.2. Please update your app to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID or Google account that was used to make the original purchase. If you're on a different device or account, the restore will fail. Try signing out and back in, then try again.

- Always let a trusted friend or family member know who you're meeting, where, and when.
- Use DatingAbove's built-in messaging and video calling features before sharing personal contact details.
- Never send money or financial information to someone you haven't met in person.
- Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it probably is. Don't feel pressured to continue a conversation or a date.
- Arrange your own transportation to and from dates so you can leave whenever you choose.
- Avoid sharing your home address, workplace address, or daily routine with someone you've just met online.
- Consider a video call before meeting in person to confirm the person matches their profile.
Protecting Your Privacy
- Don't include your last name, workplace, or other identifying information in your profile bio.
- Use DatingAbove photos that aren't easily reverse-searchable on Google (avoid reusing your LinkedIn or Facebook profile photo).
- Be cautious about sharing social media handles early in a conversation.
- Enable Incognito mode if you want to browse without being seen (Premium feature).
- Use the "Block Contacts" feature in Settings to prevent people in your phone contacts from finding you.
- Regularly review your connected apps and permissions in Settings → Privacy.
- If you're being pressured to move to another messaging platform, consider it a red flag and report the member.
Take Action
- Report members who request sexual favors in exchange for money — this is strictly against our Terms of Use.
- Report members who identify themselves as escorts or engage in solicitation of any kind.
- Report any member guilty of online harassment, threats, or hate speech.
- Report anyone who asks for money before meeting in person, including sob stories, fake emergencies, or requests to pay phone bills.
- Report members who ask for your home address under the pretense of sending gifts.
- Report members who ask for bank account details, credit card numbers, or passwords.
- Report any members who are looking for or claim to be individuals under 18 years of age.
- Report anyone who pressures you into sharing intimate photos or videos.
